Helmut Thiele is a designer who has made an unparalleled contribution to the art of audio reproduction. His career spans working for numerous brands including Acapella, Tannoy, Mordaunt Short, Pioneer, Marantz, Magnat, HECO, TAD, Genuim Audio and Thixar. For more than 15 years he has been the main designer for Thorens, culminating in the design of the Thorens New Reference. In 2009, he began designing a tangential tonearm that he wanted to produce as his own product.
