WAM Engineering has been advancing turntable setup since 1994 and many of their tools are the only ones made of their type anywhere in the world. They are passionate about helping you to apply the mathematics, geometry and physics behind vinyl playback to allow you to START FROM CERTAINTY on your analog setup.
The WallyScope V2 provides an accurate and simple two-step process for measuring your cartridge’s dynamic rake angle and can also be used for assessing stylus condition and wear patterns. Control of the subject in the frame and fine focus is made easy by the unique design which affords motion control in all three axes.
The WallyScope’s V2 compound lenses (2x, 4x & 10x magnification) and high-sensitivity, 1/2″ format back-illuminated camera capture high resolution images with extraordinary light sensitivity and powerful magnification levels. The WallyScope V2 is mounted to a XYZ stage allowing easy manipulation of height, fine focus and left/right shifting. A specially trimmed vinyl record makes dynamic measurements of stylus quick and easy. The entire kit is packaged in a rugged weatherproof storage case. Camera software is compatible with PC, Mac or Linux.
Please note that the WallyScope V2 was released November 2022. The new version offers improved “reach” for the lens so it can be used to image stylus/cantilever assemblies when mounted on turntables with rectangular plinths. For those people who own the original WallyScope, an upgrade kit is available along with an instructional video as to how to carry out the upgrade on your WallyScope and bring it to V2 specification.
