A few years ago, the darTZeel team embarked on a very ambitious project – to make a new cartridge that delivered the best possible performance. Well regarded for the brilliance of their electronics, they had accumulated a lot of experience in working with analog systems and had also worked closely with some very talented and experienced analog experts. Part of the DNA of the ‘darTZeel way’ is to approach design challenges from a different angle, to think differently.

The result of this project is the emergence of two superb cartridges and it is fair to say that it has definitely been worth the wait. Reading the specification sheet is like a wish-list of the most desirable attributes and technologies cultivated in the one cartridge. The NDB-01D is the statement diamond cantilever stereo MC Cartridge featuring a square shank diamond cantilever with pure, high precision hand polished natural nude diamond. It also features hand-wound silver coated pure copper coils in a unique continuous winding construction. The coil armature is made on an acid etched titanium support and it incorporates a light weight moving assembly for unprecedented reproduction of details. This is the traditional way of making a cartridge taken to an extreme!
